The High Point Academy Charter School sits on a 5.8-acre site located within the High Point Development in Aurora, Colorado.
Consilium Design provided site planning and landscape architectural services for this project. The theme for the project is “sustainable prairie style” with a water-conserving landscape design.
Lifestyle— High quality, low maintenance homes serving multiple living styles provide for the change of lifestyle through future generations.
Community — Centralized open space provides a variety of outdoor activities for residents
Connectivity — The 10-acre park design offers a trail system with links to regional trails
Whisper Creek II introduces a 92-acre, mixed-use neighborhood center addition to the Whisper Creek master plan. A variety of residential uses including multi-family, town homes, duplex and single-family homes are included in the plan, providing diversity and an effective transition from other residential neighborhoods. The plan also offers areas for small businesses and restaurants along with opportunities for larger office and retail spaces. To further support of neighborhood amenities, the Foothills Community Church plans to improve additional facilities near new developments. As the site nears its core, a 10-acre park can be found weaving through each neighborhood with connections to adjacent regional trails.
Consilium Design provided master planning and landscape architecture services to create a connected community with a network of parks and open spaces. The landscape plantings follow the same low maintenance, high quality ideals as the neighborhood plan by using xeric and native plant materials. The park is strategically located to preserve and enhance the views of Standley Lake and features traditional uses such as a “tot lot” and open fields along with non-traditional uses like pop-jet fountains and passive areas for reflection.
The Met at Boulevard One is a 3.7 acre multi-family project within Denver. The design focused on using drought tolerant grass materials to facilitate a landscape pallet that focuses on a predominately low water demand. A walk system helps enhance pedestrian connectivity to the surrounding open space and street corridors.

In this landscape plan, we focused on the pool/grilling amenity space on the third floor along with a strong streetscape focused design. We had to focus on creating a landscape design for the streetscape that played off the architecture of the building.

Environment — The neighborhood plan preserves one of the last remaining sections of Van Bibber Creek in its native condition as a neighborhood park
Development impact— 95% of open landscape areas within the neighborhood are preserved or restored native landscape
Connectivity— The implemented trail development respects the need for an interconnected regional trail system
Open Space — A neighborhood park meets the needs of Table Rock Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods
Table Rock Ridge is Jefferson County’s latest environmentally conscious neighborhood north of Golden, Colorado at the northeast corner of 58th Ave. and HWY 93. This 199-home residential neighborhood has over 25 acres of open space including parks, regional trails, playgrounds, and the preservation of the Van Bibber Creek corridor which encompasses mature trees, shrubs and wildlife habitats.
Consilium Design led the community planning and entitlements effort for the 68-acre neighborhood that resulted in unanimous approval by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners for zoning and final plat. Although the site presented several challenges, working alongside RRCEA and KT Engineering granted the ability to turn constraints into design features, creating a neighborhood with unique amenities for future residents and the surrounding community.
Table Rock Ridge benefits the greater community by:
Preserving existing trees and habitat along Van Bibber Creek in a natural open space/park setting
Providing variety in housing that is compatible with surrounding neighborhoods
Providing a neighborhood park along Van Bibber Creek trail and other open spaces that are accessible by the greater neighborhood
Extending the Van Bibber Creek regional trail to the intersection of Highway 93 and 58th Avenue, and to the existing bus stop
Improving storm water run-off quality along Van Bibber Creek that flows to eastern communities
Ecology— We identified native landscape zones and made it a priority to preserve and restore them, with additional xeriscape plantings that reduce watering needs
Development Impact— We reduced impervious surfaces throughout the site, while the reuse of salvaged materials mitigates the overall impact of construction
Circulation— By designing for multi-modal transportation, we will see increases in circulation and ease of access to Stanley Marketplace
Consilium Design is excited to be a part of the innovative design team tasked with the transformation of the 140,000 square-foot Stanley Aviation building and 22-acre site into the Stanley Marketplace; a mixed-use community destination that has already has begun and will continue to house retail, dining, offices, and a specialty grocer among other diverse potential tenants.
Consilium Design formulated a concept for the Stanley Marketplace to create an inviting, attractive and functional landscape that accomplishes environmental, cultural and economic sustainability principles.
Our team has prepared a site master plan that includes a 6-acre park-like open space, event terraces and urban market plazas that will further establish Stanley Marketplace as a neighborhood destination.
Stanley Marketplace is the cornerstone redevelopment for the Westerly Creek Village Urban Renewal Plan in Northwest Aurora, Colorado. The landscape design is reflective of the site and its cultural, historic and physical context within Westerly Creek Village and Stapleton.
In keeping with our goal of uncommon respect for people, planet and purpose, we identified native landscape zones and prioritized preservation and restoration, with additional xeriscape plantings that reduce watering needs. The reduced impervious surfaces throughout the site and the reuse of salvaged materials from previous structures mitigate the overall impact of construction.

Topography— Neighborhood and home designs respect and celebrate the natural topography of the site
Lifestyle— Refined outdoor living in both public and private spaces accommodates a variety of different living styles
Culture— Mindful appreciation of the region’s history and an array of development styles embellishes the community’s sense of place
Consilium Design’s concept for the Hillside Village at Sun Kingdom was inspired by the client’s commitment to create an “essence of lifestyle”, built upon the highest quality design while aiming to be the finest residential environment in China.
The collaborative effort with Woodley Architectural Group was to create a neighborhood reminiscent of a Mediterranean hillside village with it’s own authentic sense of place, grounded in the unique qualities of the region and its spectacular setting within the Sun Kingdom championship golf course and community.
The physical characteristics of the site presented an opportunity to create a neighborhood design unique to Sun Kingdom and Chongqing. Set in the core of the community with over 50 meters in elevation change, it is highly visible from the main community entry, the future clubhouse and community facilities, the surrounding golf course and other developments.
Living at the Hillside Village at Sun Kingdom presented a new lifestyle opportunity and the finest luxury living for people who value a community with a sense of history and artistic quality. Mr. Gao Xiao Dong, General Manager of Chongqing Techxiang Industrial Company, the developers of Sun Kingdom eloquently concluded that residents “fell in love with the community as the villas selected the residents. The home became a part of their life story.”
Today, Hillside Village at Sun Kingdom is the finest residential community in China.
